The project involves investments estimated at approximately USD 5 million, reflecting the diversity of activities across Elsewedy’s industrial cities. This step marks the company’s first entry into the Egyptian market, with an expected production capacity of around 4.8 thousand tons of food products annually.
The agreement was signed by Eng. Mohamed AlKammah, CEO of Elsewedy Industrial Development, and Mr. Seif El-Din Çizmeci, Managing Director of Çizmeci Gıda. The signing was witnessed by Mr. Hamid Çizmeci, Board Member and a fifth-generation member of the Çizmeci family responsible for managing and developing the company’s international investments, as well as Eng. He added that the company continues to build an integrated industrial ecosystem that provides investors with advanced infrastructure and operational services, supporting rapid production start-up and expansion, and contributing to strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional hub for industry and exports.
For his part, Mr. Seif El-Din Çizmeci, Board Member of Çizmeci Gıda, expressed his pleasure at expanding into the Egyptian market, noting that the decision to invest in Egypt came after an in-depth study of opportunities in the food industries sector. He highlighted Egypt’s strategic geographic location, which enables access to markets across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. He added that cooperation with Elsewedy Industrial Development represents an important step in the company’s international expansion strategy, as the industrial complex provides a suitable environment for establishing a manufacturing project based on the latest food production technologies. He also noted that the new factory will rely on state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies to ensure high-quality products that meet the needs of consumers in Egypt and target export markets.
This investment comes as part of Çizmeci Gıda’s strategy to expand into international markets and strengthen its industrial presence outside Turkey. The company has been producing wafers and biscuits since 1993 and exports its products to dozens of countries worldwide under the Çizmeci TIME brand. The project is expected to create approximately 150 direct job opportunities during its first phase, with future plans to increase investments and expand production lines in subsequent phases.
