With USD 65 Million in Investments Elsewedy Industrial Development Signs Land Agreements with Four Chinese Companies to Establish Textile Manufacturing Facilities in SOKHNA360, SCZONE
Cairo – Elsewedy Industrial Development, a subsidiary of Elsewedy Electric, has signed land allocation agreements with four major Chinese textile manufacturers to establish new production facilities within SOKHNA360, the fully integrated industrial city developed by Elsewedy Industrial Development in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Eng. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone; Dr. Abdelaziz El-Sherif, Chairman of the Egyptian Commercial Service; and Minister Plenipotentiary Alaa El-Baily, representing Trade Affairs. The agreements were signed by Eng. Mohamed AlKammah, CEO of Elsewedy Industrial Development, alongside representatives of the four Chinese companies.

Marking a new milestone for the textile industry in Egypt, the agreements bring together four leading Chinese players specializing in advanced textile technologies and healthcare fabrics. Their facilities — spanning a total of over 238,000 square meters — will form one of the largest textile clusters in SOKHNA360, with investments exceeding USD 65 million and the potential to create more than 3,000 new jobs.

Once operational, these projects will serve as regional export hubs, supplying high-quality textile products to markets across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, reinforcing Egypt’s position as a competitive manufacturing destination.
